I want to start this differently.
First of all I bloody love film. I love the way it renders colour, I love the way it feels to use and I love the tech used in the 1980s to craft such images.
Equal to film, I bloody love weddings but I’m absolutely not a documentary photographer in the traditional sense that everyone says they are.
My approach to weddings might be slightly unconventional for the world of documentary because I would still label my stuff with the candid sticker but it’s different.
Photography for me has never once been about hiding in the shadows, lurking waiting for that moment. For me it’s about being truly present and involved. Giving enough of a shit to notice what’s really happening in moments and being able to capture that before it disappears.
I base all of my work around film because it makes me work with intention. I don’t want to deliver hundreds of duplicates, I want you to have a handcrafted batch of beautiful, timeless images that will keep you coming back year after year to reminisce on with family members of all generations.
I guess if you’re here, you don’t want overproduced and you don’t want traditional. You want something that feels more like you and if that’s the case, we’ll probably get on just fine.
Let’s do this!
If you’ve made it this far, chances are something’s clicked. That’s always a good start.
I’d love to hear what you’re planning. Whether it’s a big weekend celebration or something small and low key, tell me a bit about yourselves and what you're dreaming up. No need for a full essay. Just the good bits.
I’ll get back to you as soon as I can with availability and next steps. If we vibe, we vibe.
